The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers including (nurseries in Enfield and childminders)must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’. It gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Observations are recorded and used as a tool to monitor a child’s strengths, recognise where support is needed and plan their future care. It enables us to recognise a child’s particular interest, of which can be incorporated into future planning.
Planning is an integral part of a child’s individual care and education. It allows us to monitor, establish goals and support a child’s development. It enables the children to experience variation of activities to gain optimum benefit during their time in our setting. Integrating a planning policy allows us to monitor, evaluate and improve the service we offer.
Within our planning the children’s seven desirable learning outcomes are taken into account as follows:
Themes are there to facilitate children’s learning and development to enable them to understand their environment and the world. We organise our planning through monthly themes.
Play is an essential part of a child learning and at Honey Bunch Childcarers we encourage children to play in 3 distinct ways

Enhanced play: Adult and child interaction play
Structured play: Adult led play
We strive to deliver the right balance of free, enhanced and structured play and tailoring the play in accordance to the child’s age, interest and stage of development.

Having spent quite some time visiting a number of childcarers and nurseries, and being anxious about leaving our daughter anywhere, we finally found Filsane and Adrian and immediately knew this was perfect for ours and our daughter’s needs. The settling in period seemed to be really easy, and from day one Matilda has been cared for, kept active, fed healthily, nurtured and developed beyond our expectations. Filsane and Adrian now feel like an extended part of our family and our daughter Matilda absolutely loves both them, their daughters and the extended Honeybunch Childcare family. She can’t wait to see them every day, and can’t wait to tell us what she’s been up to when she arrives home. We can’t rate them highly enough. It will be a sad day for us all when she leaves this wonderful setting.
